UPDATE: (No) My Chemical Romance song to be featured on 'The Man With The Iron Fists' Soundtrack

UPDATE: August 28, 2012 @ 8:16 a.m.

Despite RZA's having seemingly confirmed MCR's spot on The Man With The Iron Fists soundtrack, as the tracklisting was revealed today, there is no sign of a My Chemical Romance song (neither old nor new) on it.

Full tracklisting below:

2. Ghostface Killah / M.O.P / Pharoahe Monch “Black Out”
3. Kanye West “White Dress”
4. The Revelations feat. Tre Williams “I Forgot To Be Your Lover”
5. Talib Kweli / RES “Get Your Way (Sex as a Weapon)”
6. Raekwon / Ghostface Killah / Kool G. Rap “Rivers of Blood”
7. Method Man / Freddie Gibbs / StreetLife “Built for This”
8. 24 Carat Black “Poverty’s Paradise”
9. Killa Sin “The Archer”
10. RZA / Flatbush Zombies “Just Blowin’ In The Wind”
12. Corrine Bailey Rae “Chains”

16. Mabel John “Your Good Thing Is About To End”

If you're still interested or simply suspicious that MCR is working under a mysterious pen name, the soundtrack is set for release October 23.

UPDATE: July 29, 2012 @ 1:05 p.m.

In a recent interview with Wired.com, RZA confirmed that My Chemical Romance will, indeed, be on the soundtrack, erasing any doubt that the original news mentioned MCR as a mistake.

However, he still made no mention whether the My Chemical Romance track would be a new one.

ORIGINAL POST: June 28, 2012 @ 8:50 p.m.
According to IndieWire, My Chemical Romance will appear on the soundtrack for the upcoming RZA-directed martial arts film, The Man With The Iron Fists.

Though the wording of the article indicates that the music MCR provides to the soundtrack will be "new" ("featuring new songs by The Black Keys, Kanye West, My Chemical Romance, Wiz Khalifa, Wu-Tang Clan and RZA himself"), because the album's tracklisting has not yet been revealed, it is unclear if the track MCR provides for the soundtrack will actually be new-new.

I will keep an eye open for more information on the soundtrack and add it here as it becomes available.

In the meantime, check out the movie's trailer below:

Additional note: Though My Chemical Romance is mentioned in the article, they are not mentioned among the other artists in the trailer.

Thank you to MCRupdates for the heads-up on this!
